Nicki Minaj has found herself in the course of a new lawsuit, and this time it’s over numerous customized jewelry she allegedly didn’t pay for.
According to TMZ, court documents disclose that Nicki is being sued by Roseark, a jewelry retailer situated in West Hollywood. Her stylist Brett Alan Nelson may be being named within the lawsuit.
Both Nicki and Brett signed a lawsuit that agreed to permit the entertainer to borrow 66 items of jewelry from the store for a public look. It stipulated that Brett needed to go back the jewelry inside of a week. It also made him responsible for any damages that the bling may face.
Roseark now claims that Brett failed to go back the items via the cut-off date. When he did get the jewelry again to the shop, they claim there was once noticeable damages to a number of of the items, together with a pair of earrings and a hoop.
This led Roseark to ship Brett an bill for over $26,000 in damages. Despite more than one makes an attempt to get what they declare they’re owed, Roseark says they haven’t observed a penny, hence why the launched the lawsuit to recover damages.
However, Nicki’s crew is denying the allegations. They declare the jewelry was once returned in pristine condition, and so they were returned for a significant period of time sooner than the jewelry retailer complained about their condition.
"We have not been presented with any evidence that any of the jewelry at issue was damaged by Nicki,” he attorney, Jordan Siev, told TMZ.
“This lawsuit appears to be nothing more than an ordinary insurance claim by the jeweler designed to generate publicity for itself and extract a payment to which it is not entitled. We will defend the lawsuit vigorously,” he continued.
Nicki may have to appear in court in the near future over the jeweler’s lawsuit, but that’s nothing new to her. The rapper was dragged into a lawsuit last year over a woman, Jennifer Hough, the Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was convicted of assaulting.
Kenneth spent time in jail after being convicted of rape in 1995. He now has to register as a sex offender. However, both Kenneth and Nicki have denied any wrongdoing, and claim he should never have been sent to jail.
In August, Jennifer filed a lawsuit against the couple, claiming they tried to intimidate her into recanting her allegations, though she dropped the case before it went to court.
More recently, Nicki filed a defamation lawsuit against blogger Nosey Heaux, which she eventually won.
